Raised on the shores of Malapascua, Jess's life has always been tied to the ocean. Growing up immersed in the island's traditional fishing lifestyle, he developed a natural, deep-rooted connection to the water long before he ever wore a mask.
Jess didn't just enter the dive industry; he built his career from the sand up. Since 2003, he has mastered every facet of the business. He started with the heavy lifting—transferring scuba tanks and operating compressors—before working his way through renowned dive centers in Dauin and Malapascua to become a Master Dive Instructor.
After years of refining his skills on elite liveaboard dive cruises, Jess returned home with a vision. Today, as the Managing Director and Head Instructor of MTD Diveshop, he brings over two decades of professional experience to his own deck.
Jess's mission is to offer more than just a dive; he created MTD to be a purely local dive center. When you dive with Jess, you are guided by twenty years of professional mastery and a lifetime of local island knowledge.
