Explore the premier dive sites of Malapascua, from world-famous encounters with Thresher Sharks to the hidden tunnels and vibrant marine sanctuaries that make this region a bucket-list destination.
At Kimud Shoal, you'll explore a vast underwater plateau famous for its frequent Thresher Shark encounters and stunning gardens of soft corals. The site is a hub of activity, where these elegant sharks rise from the deep to cruise alongside schools of tuna and mackerel.
Monad Shoal takes biodiversity to the next level, serving as a world-renowned cleaning station for the ocean's giants. Beyond the daily presence of Threshers, this site offers the incredible chance to see majestic Manta Rays and the occasional Tiger Shark patrolling the blue.

While Malapascua is famous for its sharks, Gato Island is the secret crown jewel of the region—a marine sanctuary where rocky topography meets an explosion of life. The island's most iconic feature is a 30-meter-long tunnel that cuts directly through the rock, providing a dramatic swim-through where Whitetip Reef Sharks are frequently found resting in the shadows.
Beyond this passage, you'll discover a vibrant underwater world teeming with everything from banded sea kraits and pygmy seahorses to colorful nudibranchs and ornate frogfish. It is a rare "all-in-one" site that perfectly balances the thrill of big-animal encounters with the intricate beauty of macro diving.

As the sun dips below the horizon, Malapascua's reefs transform into a stage for some of the ocean's most bizarre and beautiful rituals. Our night dive is a must for macro enthusiasts and photographers looking to witness life that stays hidden during the day.
The highlight of the evening is the mesmerizing Mandarin Fish mating dance. Found in the shallow coral rubble, these psychedelic-patterned fish emerge at dusk to perform a delicate, fleeting courtship.
Keep your torch steady and your eyes peeled for the masters of disguise: the Frogfish. Whether perched on a sponge or camouflaged against the reef, these sedentary predators are a thrill to spot. You'll also encounter a parade of nocturnal life, from hunting moray eels and glowing bobtail squid to an array of colorful nudibranchs and crustaceans.

Just off the coast of Bogo in northern Cebu, Capitancillo Islet is a compact marine sanctuary where crystal-clear waters meet dramatic walls and thriving coral gardens. The site offers a perfect blend of reef and wall diving, with healthy hard and soft corals that attract a rich variety of tropical fish and macro life.
Expect vibrant reef scenes, occasional pelagics passing by the wall, and excellent visibility that makes it a favourite for both wide-angle and macro photographers. Whether you're drifting along the wall or exploring the shallower gardens, Capitancillo delivers a relaxed yet rewarding day of diving away from the busier Malapascua sites.

The MV Doña Marilyn—a former Sulpicio Lines passenger ferry that sank in 1988—rests on the seabed near Malapascua as one of the region's most atmospheric wreck dives. The structure has become an artificial reef, encrusted with corals and sponges, and sits at a depth that suits both exploration and marine-life encounters.
Swim along the hull and through open sections as fish schools weave around the wreck; barracuda, trevally, and sweetlips are often present. The combination of history, structure, and marine life makes the Doña Marilyn a memorable addition to any Malapascua trip—ideal for divers who want a change from the reef and cleaning-station dives while staying within day-trip range.
